WWE RAW Opener:
Tonight’s WWE RAW kicks off with Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler welcoming us to Minneapolis. They talk about the tag match later tonight and says Adamle is letting HBK pick his partner. They plug the WrestleMania 24 airing on MyNetworkTV this week.
- Batista’s music hits and out he comes. Out next is the WWE Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella with Beth Phoenix at his side. Santino stops on the entrance way with the mic. Santino brings the Honk-A-Meter up on the screen and does the usual. Santino says he brought some additional visual aids for Batista tonight and has a Brain Barometer appear on the screen. He says the average brain has 5 trillion brain cellsin it and the meter says his has 10 trillion. He shows Batista on the Barometer and it says Batista has 12 brain cells and he is about to knock out 10 of them. Santino says he is going to leave Batista in worse shape than the US economy.
Batista vs. Santino Marella
As soon as the bell rings, Santino gets leveled by a clothesline. Batista throws him in the corner, hits him with thrusts and then a big spine buster. Batista goes for the Batista Bomb and nails it in the middle of the ring. Batista gets the easy 1-2-3 as Beth Phoenix looks on in this non-title match.
Winner: Batista
After the match, Beth Phoenix gets on the apron and has words with Batista. JBL comes out of the crowd and drops Batista with a big clothesline as he turns around. Batista tries tor recover in the ring as JBL heads to the back.
Backstage:
We go backstage with Shawn Michaels. HBK says when he trained Lance Cade, he knew he was good but didn’t think it would come to what it did and says he won’t let it happen again. HBK says Jericho has 6 days to walk around as the Champion because at No Mercy he is going to climb a ladder and walk out the Champion. Grisham asks him about his mystery partner tonight. HBK teases a “Real American” as his partner and it gets no reaction. He teases a “Texas Rattlesnake” and it gets a pop. He teases Bret Hart which gets a bigger pop. HBK says he’s been given it a lot of thought and just wants to find a partner who actually likes him. With that he walks off and we go to commercial.
JTG vs. The Miz
Back from commercial and Cryme Tyme makes their way to the ring for JTG’s single match. Out next is The Miz with John Morrison in his corner.
JTG and Miz lock up to start the match and Miz connect with an elbow and forearm shot. JTG gets dumped to the apron but comes back in with a dropkick, knocking Miz down. JTG gets a 2 count on Miz. Miz fights back but JTG decks him again. They collide and Miz takes back control and unloads in the corner until the ref backs him off. Miz hits his running Bronco move in the corner and drops leg drops on JTG in the center of the ring. 2 count by Miz.
JTG counters another move by Miz and rolls him up for a 2 count. Miz comes right back up and drops him with a clothesline. They trade hands in the ring and JTG hits a big leap frog legdrop and a flying elbow. JTG goes tot he second rope and hits another leg drop while Miz is standing for another 2 count. Miz goes for a clothesline but JTG counters it. Morrison gets on the apron and Shad knocks him back off. Miz takes advantage and hits the Reality Check on JTG for the pinfall and the win.
Winner: The Miz
Backstage:
We see Jamie Noble walking when he sees Jillian Hall. He needs a favor. He says everytime she opens her mouth and those sounds come up, he almost swallows his skull. But, he respects her wrestling ability and needs her as a partner. Noble asks her to take on Paul Burchill and Katie Lea tonight. She says what makes him think if Layla didn’t want to appear with him, why would someone who is 10 times hotter, her. She breaks out in song. She turns around to Dolph Ziggler. He introduces himself to Jillian and Noble with Noble getting mad and walking off. Dolph leaves, Jillian looks puzzled and we go to commercial.
Jamie Noble and Mickie James vs. Paul Burchill and Katie Lea
Back from commercial and Jamie Noble comes out to the ring by himself where Katie and Paul already wait. William Regal’s music hits and out he comes to the stage where a King’s chair is sitting. Regal takes a seat in the chair and Layla sits with him. Out comes Mickie James, who runs to the ring to be Noble’s partner.
Noble and Burchill start the match off with Burchill in control. He hits Noble with a big uppercut in the corner and tags in Katie. She clotheslines Noble and gets a 2 count. Katie taunts Mickie and kicks on Noble. He grabs her and pushes her into Mickie’s elbow and tags her in. Mickie comes in with a kick and forearms on Katie. The ref is distracted by Noble when Burchill trips Mickie and Katie gets a 2 count on her. Another 2 count by Katie.
Regal and Layla watch from the stage as Katie remains in control of Mickie in the ring. Mickie finally fights out and drops Katie with a neck breaker. Noble and Burchill tag in at the same time and Noble comes in cleaning house. He says something to Regal, climbs the top rope and nails Burchill with a missle dropkick for a 2 count as Katie makes the save. Mickie comes in and fights Katie outside to the floor. Burchill hits another big uppercut and goes for a suplex but Noble counters it and slaps on an armbar, making Burchill tap as Regal stands up and looks on.
Winners: Jamie Noble and Mickie James
Backstage:
Back from commercial and we see Cody Rhodes, Manu and Ted DiBiase walking around in a dark area of the arena looking for Kane. They find him staring at the wall. Cody says they know he’s not a tag team kind of guy, but the way they see it, his father is Paul Bearer so that makes him a second generation Superstar. Cody says if they just act as a unit out there, they should be OK. Ted says they didn’t ask for this match but they want to make sure they’re on the same page. Kane finally turns around and says he doesn’t take orders from anyone. He says he is going to massacre Rey Mysterio tonight regardless. The way he sees it, he tells them to stay out of his way and there won’t be a lifeless pile of second generation carcuses laying in the ring. Kane says he’s going to see Mike Adamle.
In the Arena:
Cole and Lawler lead us into a video package from last week’s RAW main event with HBK getting pinned by Lance Cade. Cade comes out to the entrance way with a microphone in his hand and talks about what we just saw on the video. He says he is the man who beat his one time mentor, Shawn Michaels. Cade says he has learned from Chris Jericho more in the past three months than he has from HBK in 10 years and the victory last week is proof Y2J is better than HBK.
Cade says he could care less who HBK’s partner is tonight because either way, he will lose to either him or Chris Jericho like he will at No Mercy. Cade says Jericho will still be World Champion after No Mercy. His music hits and he heads to the back.
CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne and Rey Mysterio vs. Ted DiBiase, Manu, Cody Rhodes and Kane
Out first for this big eight-man tag team match is the former World Champion CM Punk followed by Rey Mysterio, both to big pops from the crowd. Rey interacts with the kids on the way to the ring before joining Punk. We go to commercial.
Back from commercial and Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne have joined their team in the ring. Out next is the team of Manu, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. The pyro explodes and out last is Kane. Rey and Kane lock eyes as Kane just laughs.
Manu and Bourne start the match with Manu beating him down to the mat then hitting him with a big elbow. Bourne fights back with kicks but gets knocked back down. Manu goes for a big suplex but Bourne tags in Rey. Rey and Bourne double team Manu and dump him to the outside. Bourne goes off the ropes and Rey throws him to the floor on Manu. Cody and Ted come in but Punk and Kofi dump them to the floor and then knock Kane to the apron. Punk and Kofi dive through the ropes on Cody and Ted while Rey dives off the top rope onto Kane as we go to commercial.
Back from commercial and Cody has Bourne down on the mat with a chinlock. The crowd gets behind Bourne and he fights back but gets dumped right back on the mat. Cody stomps him and tags in Manu. Bourne tries to tag out but gets dropped on the back of his head by Manu and a 2 count. Bourne finally tags in Punk who comes in over the ropes onto Manu. Punk with a big kick and a running knee in the corner. Punk kicks DiBiase off the apron but gets knocked down by Manu. Cody gets tagged in and goes to work on Punk’s left leg.
Cody keeps working over Punk’s knee until Kane gets tagged in. Kane drops a big elbow and starts pummeling Punk. DiBiase gets tagged in and they keep Punk in the corner, working over Punk and his injured leg. Kane hits a big cheapshot on Punk. DiBiase pulls him back to the center of the ring and continues working over the leg. Punk starts to fight them off in the corner but can’t. Cody comes in now and gets a 2 count and keeps on working on Punk’s leg.
Ted comes in, works over Punk and tags in Manu. Manu does the same, still working on the left leg of CM Punk. Cody comes back in and we get more of the same. Punk tries to fight back on his knees but gets stomped back to the mat. In comes Kane now, who stomps on Punk and taunts Mysterio. Punk hits Kane with kicks and tries to tag. Punk with a big kick to Kane’s head and he tries to tag out. Kane knocks Rey off the apron and drags Punk back to their corner where Cody is waiting to work him over some more.
Punk goes back and forth with Cody but finally tags in Kofi. Kofi comes ina nd cleans house on Cody and Ted. He hits his big leg drop on Cody for a 2 count as Manu makes the save. Bourne comes in and takes Manu to the floor over the top rope. Kane gets tagged in and calls for a chokeslam on Kofi. Rey nails Kane from the back off the rope and throws Ted to the floor. Kane catches Kofi in mid-air and slams him with a choke slam in the middle of the ring for the pinfall and the win.
Winners: Kane, Manu, Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes
In the Arena:
Back from commercial and Mike Adamle is in the ring. The crowd is giving him some much deserved hell. Adamle says earlier tonight, Kane made him a request and he said he would grant it based on if Kane won or not tonight and he did. Adamle says if Kane beats Mysterio at No Mercy this Sunday, Rey will have to take off his mask in the middle of the ring. Out comes Randy Orton!
Orton makes his way to the ring. Adamle asks him if he can help him. Orton wanted to make sure Adamle had his cell phone on him so he can call Shane McMahon to make sure everything he’s announcing is OK. Orton disses Adamle some more. Adamle says he doesn’t like his tone and Orton says he doesn’t appreciate how Adamle let Shane override his decision to suspend CM Punk last week and says he needs to re-suspend him right now and stand up for himself.
Orton says if he isn’t happy, then Adamle won’t be happy. He says when he gets better, he will run things on RAW again like he did when he was Champion. Out comes JBL.
JBL says he is having a very bad week so this is going to be short. With the market down, he has lost more money this week than most people will ever see but he also has more left than anyone will ever see. JBL talks about the economy and mentions his wife. He says he will be #1 contender after No Mercy. JBL calls Orton a one-arm gimp and says he is living in the past. JBL tells Adamle he should make the stipulation that when he becomes World Champion, Randy Orton never gets a shot at the belt. Out comes Batista and JBL freaks out. Batista comes up from behind JBL and just stands there. JBL turns around to a huge spear from Batista. Batista says by No Mercy time, JBL’s week is going to get a whole lot worse. Batista drops the mic and heads to the back.
Backstage:
We see Santino Marella talking on the phone. He says thanks for the kind words and asks the person how they got his number. He runs into Beth Phoenix and changes his tone, saying goodbye to “Frank.” Beth asks who that was on the phone and he says a sick kid named Frank he told they would win for tonight. Beth tells him he always screws things up and not to come to ringside because she can’t lose another match. He says it’s a good thing she doesn’t have a Fabulous-Moolah-Meter because she’s like 22 years behind. She walks off as he keeps talking.
- We see Kelly Kelly and Candice Michelle making their way to the ring as we go back to commercial.
Candice and Kelly Kelly vs. Beth Phoenix and Jillian Hall
Back from commercial and Kelly Kelly is out first followed by Candice. The WWE Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix is out next with Jillian Hall.
Beth and Candice start the match off. Candice does a few moves and tags in Kelly. They double dropkick Beth. Kelly works her over and tags back in Candice again. Beth throws Candice back in their corner and nails her with forearms. Jillian comes in and does the same. Candice fights off Jillian and hits Beth. Candice with a leg sweep and a 2 count.
Jillian catches Candice off the ropes and slams her on her face and then stands on her face. Beth comes in and hits a big backbreaker on Candice and another. 2 count by Beth Phoenix. Jillian comes back in and throws Candice around and pulls her hair.Candice counters a move by Jillian with knees to the back and knocks her down. Beth and Kelly come in at the same time and drops Beth with a long head scissors move. Beth over powers her, slams her and gets a 2 count as Candice makes the save. Jillian trips Candice on her face. Kelly rolls Beth up from behind for a 2 count. Beth grabs Kelly from behind and slams her on her face for the pinfall and the win.
Winners: Beth Phoenix and Jillian Hall
Deuce vs. The Great Charlie
Back from commercial and Deuce is in the ring. His opponent is out and it’s The Great Charlie with the real Ranjin Singh by his side, Haas looks ridiculous mocking Khali and makes his way to the ring. Lilian was even cracking up announcing it.
Charlie and Haas go back and forth. Haas goes for the Charlie Bomb and Deuce counters it. Deuce drops Charlie and taunts him. Deuce goes for a splash but Charlie puts his knees up. Haas takes off the wig and goes to work on Deuce. Haas climbs the top and drops Deuce with a flying clothesline for the pinfall and the win.
Winner: The Great Charlie
After the match, Haas celebrates in the ring until Ranjin Singh comes back out with the real The Great Khali. Ranjin takes the mic and introduces the two. Haas impersonates Khali in his face and even gets a smile on the face of Khali. Haas extends his hand but Khali drops him with a big overhand shot. Khali and Ranjin leave Haas laying as we get ready for another commercial break.
In the Arena:
After a few MyNetworkTV and No Mercy plugs, the World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho comes to the ring with Lance Cade. Jericho gets on the mic and says he will win at No Mercy because he is better than Michaels. Jericho tells Cade to get a ladder from under the ring and he does. As Lance Cade hits the steel steps and ring post with the ladder, Jericho tells HBK that’s what he’s going to be doing to him. Then he’s going to bring him in the ring and slam the ladder onto his neck. Jericho is demonstrating all of this as the crowd boos. Jericho continues to show what he plans on doing to Michaels at No Mercy. Jericho talks about luck, his music hits and we go back to commercial.
Chris Jericho and Lance Cade vs. Shawn Michaels and...
Back from commercial and Jericho and Cade are in the ring. HBK’s music hits and out comes the #1 contender. HBK goes behind the curtain to bring out his partner and it’s none other than… and we’re still waiting… DX’s music plays and out comes Shawn Michaels and the WWE Champion Triple H as DX to a huge pop.
DX storms the ring and Cade and Jericho hit the floor. They pose for the fans to a huge pop from the crowd. Jericho starts the match with Triple H. Triple H knocks him down with a big shoulder and nails a few right hands. Jericho counters the big knee but HHH counters that and Cade comes in. Cade pounds on HHH and goes for a suplex but its reversed. Triple H drops a big knee on Cade’s face and tags in HBK.
HBK with chops on Cade and a big forearm. Jericho comes in and HBK tackles him. HBK chases Jericho around the ring, comes back in and Cade decks him to take control. Jericho is tagged in now to work over HBK. Jericho with right hands in the corner as Cade is tagged back in. Cade with a few punches and Y2J is tagged right back in. Jericho applies a submission in the middle of the ring. HBK fights to his feet and hits more chops in the corner. Bulldog by Jericho. Jericho stands over HBK and then misses the Lionsault. HBK tries to make the tag.
Cade and HHH come in at the same time and HHH hits him with a big knee. Triple H beats Cade some more and knocks Jericho off the apron. Big spine buster by Triple H on Cade. Triple H goes for te Pedigree but Jericho comes in and hits the Codebreaker on him. HBK tries to make the save but Cade lays him out with a clothesline. Cade and Jericho start beating HBK down on the mat and the referee calls for the bell.
Winners by DQ: DX
Cade holds HBK while Jericho decks him. Cade beats on HBK in the ring as Jericho brings a ladder into the ring. Cade holds HBK as Jericho gets in the ring. Triple H comes from behind with a sledgehammer and Jericho rolls out of the ring. The Game decks Cade with the sledgehammer. Jericho leaves towards the back. HBK hits Cade with Sweet Chin Music and HHH lays him out with a Pedigree. HBK locks eyes with Jericho on the ramp as Triple H sets up the ladder. HBK climbs the ladder as HHH points at him, DX style. HBK points at Jericho from atop the ladder and flies onto him with a huge elbow drop. HBK and HHH look at Jericho who is still on the ramp as RAW goes off the air.

DiBiase gets tagged in and they keep Punk in the corner, working over Punk and his injured leg. Kane hits a big cheapshot on Punk. DiBiase pulls him back to the center of the ring and continues working over the leg. Punk starts to fight them off in the corner but can’t. Cody comes in now and gets a 2 count and keeps on working on Punk’s leg.
Ted comes in, works over Punk and tags in Manu. Manu does the same, still working on the left leg of CM Punk. Cody comes back in and we get more of the same. Punk tries to fight back on his knees but gets stomped back to the mat. In comes Kane now, who stomps on Punk and taunts Mysterio. Punk hits Kane with kicks and tries to tag. Punk with a big kick to Kane’s head and he tries to tag out. Kane knocks Rey off the apron and drags Punk back to their corner where Cody is waiting to work him over some more.
Punk goes back and forth with Cody but finally tags in Kofi. Kofi comes ina nd cleans house on Cody and Ted. He hits his big leg drop on Cody for a 2 count as Manu makes the save. Bourne comes in and takes Manu to the floor over the top rope. Kane gets tagged in and calls for a chokeslam on Kofi. Rey nails Kane from the back off the rope and throws Ted to the floor. Kane catches Kofi in mid-air and slams him with a choke slam in the middle of the ring for the pinfall and the win.

In the Arena:
Back from commercial and Mike Adamle is in the ring. The crowd is giving him some much deserved hell. Adamle says earlier tonight, Kane made him a request and he said he would grant it based on if Kane won or not tonight and he did. Adamle says if Kane beats Mysterio at No Mercy this Sunday, Rey will have to take off his mask in the middle of the ring. Out comes Randy Orton!
Orton makes his way to the ring. Adamle asks him if he can help him. Orton wanted to make sure Adamle had his cell phone on him so he can call Shane McMahon to make sure everything he’s announcing is OK. Orton disses Adamle some more. Adamle says he doesn’t like his tone and Orton says he doesn’t appreciate how Adamle let Shane override his decision to suspend CM Punk last week and says he needs to re-suspend him right now and stand up for himself.
Orton says if he isn’t happy, then Adamle won’t be happy. He says when he gets better, he will run things on RAW again like he did when he was Champion. Out comes JBL.
JBL says he is having a very bad week so this is going to be short. With the market down, he has lost more money this week than most people will ever see but he also has more left than anyone will ever see. JBL talks about the economy and mentions his wife. He says he will be #1 contender after No Mercy. JBL calls Orton a one-arm gimp and says he is living in the past. JBL tells Adamle he should make the stipulation that when he becomes World Champion, Randy Orton never gets a shot at the belt. Out comes Batista and JBL freaks out. Batista comes up from behind JBL and just stands there. JBL turns around to a huge spear from Batista. Batista says by No Mercy time, JBL’s week is going to get a whole lot worse. Batista drops the mic and heads to the back.
Backstage:
We see Santino Marella talking on the phone. He says thanks for the kind words and asks the person how they got his number. He runs into Beth Phoenix and changes his tone, saying goodbye to “Frank.” Beth asks who that was on the phone and he says a sick kid named Frank he told they would win for tonight. Beth tells him he always screws things up and not to come to ringside because she can’t lose another match. He says it’s a good thing she doesn’t have a Fabulous-Moolah-Meter because she’s like 22 years behind. She walks off as he keeps talking.
- We see Kelly Kelly and Candice Michelle making their way to the ring as we go back to commercial.
Candice and Kelly Kelly vs. Beth Phoenix and Jillian Hall
Back from commercial and Kelly Kelly is out first followed by Candice. The WWE Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix is out next with Jillian Hall.
Beth and Candice start the match off. Candice does a few moves and tags in Kelly. They double dropkick Beth. Kelly works her over and tags back in Candice again. Beth throws Candice back in their corner and nails her with forearms. Jillian comes in and does the same. Candice fights off Jillian and hits Beth. Candice with a leg sweep and a 2 count.
Jillian catches Candice off the ropes and slams her on her face and then stands on her face. Beth comes in and hits a big backbreaker on Candice and another. 2 count by Beth Phoenix. Jillian comes back in and throws Candice around and pulls her hair.Candice counters a move by Jillian with knees to the back and knocks her down. Beth and Kelly come in at the same time and drops Beth with a long head scissors move. Beth over powers her, slams her and gets a 2 count as Candice makes the save. Jillian trips Candice on her face. Kelly rolls Beth up from behind for a 2 count. Beth grabs Kelly from behind and slams her on her face for the pinfall and the win.

Deuce vs. The Great Charlie
Back from commercial and Deuce is in the ring. His opponent is out and it’s The Great Charlie with the real Ranjin Singh by his side, Haas looks ridiculous mocking Khali and makes his way to the ring. Lilian was even cracking up announcing it.
Charlie and Haas go back and forth. Haas goes for the Charlie Bomb and Deuce counters it. Deuce drops Charlie and taunts him. Deuce goes for a splash but Charlie puts his knees up. Haas takes off the wig and goes to work on Deuce. Haas climbs the top and drops Deuce with a flying clothesline for the pinfall and the win.
Winner: The Great Charlie
After the match, Haas celebrates in the ring until Ranjin Singh comes back out with the real The Great Khali. Ranjin takes the mic and introduces the two. Haas impersonates Khali in his face and even gets a smile on the face of Khali. Haas extends his hand but Khali drops him with a big overhand shot. Khali and Ranjin leave Haas laying as we get ready for another commercial break.
In the Arena:
After a few MyNetworkTV and No Mercy plugs, the World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho comes to the ring with Lance Cade. Jericho gets on the mic and says he will win at No Mercy because he is better than Michaels. Jericho tells Cade to get a ladder from under the ring and he does. As Lance Cade hits the steel steps and ring post with the ladder, Jericho tells HBK that’s what he’s going to be doing to him. Then he’s going to bring him in the ring and slam the ladder onto his neck. Jericho is demonstrating all of this as the crowd boos. Jericho continues to show what he plans on doing to Michaels at No Mercy. Jericho talks about luck, his music hits and we go back to commercial.
Chris Jericho and Lance Cade vs. Shawn Michaels and...
Back from commercial and Jericho and Cade are in the ring. HBK’s music hits and out comes the #1 contender. HBK goes behind the curtain to bring out his partner and it’s none other than… and we’re still waiting… DX’s music plays and out comes Shawn Michaels and the WWE Champion Triple H as DX to a huge pop.
DX storms the ring and Cade and Jericho hit the floor. They pose for the fans to a huge pop from the crowd. Jericho starts the match with Triple H. Triple H knocks him down with a big shoulder and nails a few right hands. Jericho counters the big knee but HHH counters that and Cade comes in. Cade pounds on HHH and goes for a suplex but its reversed. Triple H drops a big knee on Cade’s face and tags in HBK.
HBK with chops on Cade and a big forearm. Jericho comes in and HBK tackles him. HBK chases Jericho around the ring, comes back in and Cade decks him to take control. Jericho is tagged in now to work over HBK. Jericho with right hands in the corner as Cade is tagged back in. Cade with a few punches and Y2J is tagged right back in. Jericho applies a submission in the middle of the ring. HBK fights to his feet and hits more chops in the corner. Bulldog by Jericho. Jericho stands over HBK and then misses the Lionsault. HBK tries to make the tag.
Cade and HHH come in at the same time and HHH hits him with a big knee. Triple H beats Cade some more and knocks Jericho off the apron. Big spine buster by Triple H on Cade. Triple H goes for te Pedigree but Jericho comes in and hits the Codebreaker on him. HBK tries to make the save but Cade lays him out with a clothesline. Cade and Jericho start beating HBK down on the mat and the referee calls for the bell.

Cade holds HBK while Jericho decks him. Cade beats on HBK in the ring as Jericho brings a ladder into the ring. Cade holds HBK as Jericho gets in the ring. Triple H comes from behind with a sledgehammer and Jericho rolls out of the ring. The Game decks Cade with the sledgehammer. Jericho leaves towards the back. HBK hits Cade with Sweet Chin Music and HHH lays him out with a Pedigree. HBK locks eyes with Jericho on the ramp as Triple H sets up the ladder. HBK climbs the ladder as HHH points at him, DX style. HBK points at Jericho from atop the ladder and flies onto him with a huge elbow drop. HBK and HHH look at Jericho who is still on the ramp as RAW goes off the air.
