NWA Mountain State recently unveiled a new title... the Loser Heavyweight Title, or Loserweight title. The title is awarded to the wrestler who loses the match, not the winner. The title can only change hands when the Loserweight champion defeats his opponent. The promotion held a battle royal on October 25th in Mount Hope WV with the last one in the ring crowned champion. That man was Nightprowler #2 after Dwayne Tenney, J.C. d**es Jr., Damon Rite and even Nightprowler #1 jumped over the top rope when the bell rang.
Although the title has proven to be a firebrand and and a center of controversy in the locker room, it has also proven itself as totally over with the fans. Nightprowler #2 has lost decisions to Diablo Jr. and (thanks to distraction from The Maestro) was counted out, allowing Johnathon the announcer to have his hand raised. The loser chant does not stop from the time the curtain parts until it closes after his matches.
NWA Mountain State should be congratulated on this popular innovation. The champion can't seem to get rid of it, and the fans can't get enough of it.
