Complete WWE Raw Results - February 2, 2009

- Tonight’s WWE RAW kicks off with the usual opening video package. The pyro explodes and we’re live at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, MO. Michael Cole welcomes us to RAW, just two weeks away from No Way Out. Jerry Lawler announces that tonight’s main event will be World Champion John Cena vs. Chris Jericho.
- Lilian Garcia is in the ring and she introduces Shane McMahon. The music hits and out comes Shane, dancing around the stage.
We cut to a video package of what’s been going on with The McMahons and Randy Orton over the past few weeks as Shane enters the ring. The video ends and Shane says when RAW went off the air last week, he was approached by Randy Orton’s legal team. He was surprised by what they had to say. Shane says Randy Orton wants to face him at No Way Out and he has accepted. Shane says the contracts are being done up and it will be Shane McMahon vs. Randy Orton in a No Holds Barred match at No Way Out.
Shane tells Orton he is coming for his ass and brings up the whole injunction and lawsuit thing from last week. Shane says he is going to do everything in his power at No Way Out to make sure Orton is unable to compete at WrestleMania. Orton’s music hits and out he comes without Legacy.
Orton stops on the stage and takes the mic. Orton says Shane seems pretty sure of himself and after last week, why wouldn’t he be? Orton asks how Shane beat up the three top Superstars in WWE last week, by himself? Orton says the answer is simple, he did it. Orton says the second he saw Shane coming down the ramp, he made a decision and told Rhodes & DiBiase not to fight back. Orton says watch the tape again from last week and you’ll see. Orton says none of them fought back. Orton says he saw the RAW roster and wasn’t going to let it be 20 on 3. He says it was a price to pay for what he wanted - the match at No Way Out.
Orton tells Shane to call the hospital where Vince is and order a bed right beside him because after No Way Out, Vince is going to have some company, that being Shane. Orton starts to walk down the ramp. Shane posts up but Orton stops and walks back up the ramp. Orton sets the mic down on the ramp and turns around, facing Shane and the ring again. Shane tells him to come on. Shane rolls his sleeves up as Orton approaches the ring. Shane gets ready as Orton just stalks him. Shane hits the ground to grab a kendo stick when Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase rush from the crowd. Shane beats them off with the stick and Legacy retreats up the ramp with Orton looking pissed off that the ambush failed. Shane stands in the ring with the kendo stick and taunts Legacy as they head to the back. Where the hell did he get the stick? RAW goes to commercial.
CM Punk and Mickie James vs. William Regal and Layla
Back from commercial and WWE Intercontinental Champion CM Punk comes out with his partner Mickie James followed by their opponents, Regal and Layla. Punk and Layla lock upand Punk gets knocked to the mat first. Punk then dropkicks Regal and starts kicking.
Punk has his back turned to face Mickie and Regal nails him from behind. Mickie and Layla are tagged in. Layla drops Mickie after a distraction. Layla mounts Mickie and goes to work. Mickie comes off the ropes with a lariat and both Divas are down. Layla tags in Regal and Punk comes in. Punk unloads on Regal with kicks and punches. More kicks by Punk and Regal goes down. Regal rolls to the floor to regroup, using Layla as a shield. Mickie comes over and lands on Layla. Punk goes to the floor and Regal lays him out. Regal enters the ring as the ref starts counting.
Mickie helps Punk back into the ring but Regal nails him with the running knee to the head. Regal covers Punk for the pinfall and the win.
Winners: William Regal and Layla
- Back from commercial and Lawler talks about an “Employee Performance Appraisal” that we will have tonight with JBL and Shawn Michaels.
Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase vs. Cryme Tyme
Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase make their way to the ring first for this tag team match. Out next is Cryme Tyme.
Ted and JTG start the match off. JTG comes off the ropes early and takes Ted down. JTG hits his Mugshot move from the corner and gets a 2 count on Ted. Ted counters a hip toss and kicks JTG in the face. Cody comes in but gets backed into the corner. Cody takes JTG down and starts nailing him with rights and kicks. Cody with an elbow to the head and a chin lock.
Cody and JTG collide in the ring and both men are down. Cody tags in Ted as Shad comes in. Shad hits two clotheslines on Ted and a running attack in the corner. Shad lifts Ted high and drops him on the mat, then decks Cody off the apron. Big slam by Shad to Ted. Shad drops the big elbow on Ted and gets a 2 count as Cody makes the save. The ref counts on Cody. Shad attacks Cody in the corner as the ref rings the bell. Ted and Cody start attacking Shad, beating him down. Rhodes and DiBiase continue to beat down Shad as JTG is nowhere to be seen for the save. The crowd boos Legacy as the ref tries to get them to go to the back.
Winners by DQ: Cryme Tyme
After the match, JTG finally appears from wherever he was and tends to Shad in the ring with WWE officials. Ted and Cody watch on the big screen as they head to the back.
- We cut to a video package of Mickey Rourke in the media talking about WWE and Chris Jericho and Jericho’s comments on RAW last week. Clips of Rourke and Jericho on Larry King are shown. Back to commercial.
- Back from commercial and it looks like the camera man has caught Randy Orton going over a game plan with Rhodes and DiBiase in the backstage area.
- Chris Jericho is in the ring, saying he wants to clarify the comments he made to Mickey Rourke on CNN last week. Jericho says he does respect Rourke’s actions in The Wrestler and his choice to back out of a match with WrestleMania. Jericho says the movie glorifies the has-beens of wrestling who are hanging on to their career like Jimmy Snuka, Roddy Piper and Ric Flair, Rourke’s inspiration. Jericho says Flair is the worse because he won’t bow out gracefully. Jericho talks about Flair’s great career and says he should be living in a mansion with his family and friends but he’s not - he’s doing autograph signingsin high school gyms and doing tell-all interviews with low rent websites, Jericho says. He says Flair is tarnishing his legacy.
Jericho says he is asking WWE to revoke the Hall of Fame status for these guys who are hanging on to their careers. John Cena comes on the screen and just yells stop a few times. Cena tells Jericho he isn’t fooling anyone, we all know he’s an idiot. Cena goes on another rant directed at Jericho, saying he’s been fired twice yet he’s still here and still won’t shut up. Cena says every word Jericho says makes him angry. Cena says Jericho crosses the line on everything he respects. Cena talks about their match tonight and says he’s going to shut Jericho up by knocking his teeth down his throat. Jericho looks on as Cole and Lawler hype the match.
- Backstage we see Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio making their way to the ring as we go back to commercial break.
Kane and Mike Knox vs. Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio
Mysterio and Kofi Kingston are out first followed by Kane and then Mike Knox. We see photos of Mike Knox earning the Chamber spot at the house show over the weekend. Kofi and Kane start things off.
Kane gets the upperhand early on but Kofi sends him to the floor. Mike Knox starts to enter the ring but Rey and Kofi hold him off. RAW goes to commercial break.
Back from commercial and Kane and Kofi are going at it. Kane lifts Kofi by his neck but Kofi fights out. Kane is backed into the corner and in comes Mysterio. Rey drops Kane for the 619 but Kane rolls to the floor. Rey hits the senton over the top onto Kane on the floor. Back in the ring and Kane takes control, tagging in Mike Knox. Rey fights Knox off but gets caught in mid-air. Kofi tags himself in and knocks Rey from Knox’s clutches and drops Knox. Kofi hits the Boom Boom on Knox for a 2 count.
Knox ends up leveling Kofi with a big boot but only getting a 2 count. Kane comes in and drops Kofi and works him over. Knox is tagged back in and just grounds Kofi to the mat. Knox throws Kofi off the ropes and drops him hard on his face. Kane comes back in for a little bit of double teaming. Kofi counters Kane’s sideslam and hits the enziguri on Kane. Kane kicks Mysterio to the floor as Kofi tries to get a tag. Kane drags Kofi back and tags in Knox. Knox drops big knees into Kofi’s head.
Kofi hits a cross-body from the top and looks for Rey to tag in but he’s still down on the floor. Rey comes to the apron as Kane drags Kofi back from the corner and nails some right hands. Rey finally gets tagged in and drops Kane, decks Knox and takes Kane back down with a head scissors take down. Rey hits the big leg drop off the ropes for a 2 count as Knox makes the save. Kofi clotheslines Knox to the floor. Kofi flies over the ropes but Knox catches him and slams him into his knee. In the ring, Rey counters Kane and drops him for the 619. Rey runs the ropes but Knox catches him from the outside. Rey flies at Kane but he catches him in mid-air and slams him for the pinfall and the win.
Winners: Kane and Mike Knox
After the match, Kofi and Rey are shown in the ring looking to be in a lot of pain, more than usual, as Knox and Kane head to the back.
- Backstage we see Shane and Stephanie McMahon walking down a hallway and talking. The Legacy attacks and beat the hell out of them. Security rushes but they fight them off too. Orton sizes up Stephanie and goes to punt kick her but Shane jumps in the way and takes the punt kick to the gut. Security finally get Legacy to back off as they and Stephanie tend to Shane. Steph’s freaking out again. Orton has that look on his face again like, what I just do? We go to commercial.
- Lawler and Cole go over what happened before the break. Then we get some more video packages with WrestleMania highlights and see JBL backstage thinking hard about something. Back to commercial we go.
Candice Michelle vs. Beth Phoenix
Back from commercial and Candice Michelle makes her way to the ring first. Out next is Beth Phoenix with Santino Marella and Rosa Mendez right behind her.
Candice and Beth lock up with Beth taking her to the mat first. Beth tightens the headlock as Candice struggles to break loose. Beth overpowers and slams Candice to the mat. Candice kicks her in the gut and tries a move off the corner but Beth ends up countering and dropping her on her head. Beth mounts Candice with rights and gets a 2 count.
Beth lifts Candice on her shoulder and spins her around. Beth keeps the pressure on Candice until Candice slides out of it. Candice wraps herself around Beth’s back and rolls her up for a 2 count. Candice hits Beth with some sloppy chops and drops Beth on her head. Candice bounces off the turnbuckle and kicks Beth in the face for a 2 count. Beth counters a move and rams Candice’s face int the corner. Beth lifts Candice up for her facebuster finisher for the pinfall and the win.
Winner: Beth Phoenix
After the match, Santino and Rosa get in the ring to celebrate with Beth. Beth tells Rosa to do something and she attacks Candice, kicking her out of the ring. The segment ends with the three of the posing and dancing in the ring.
- Backstage we see Chris Jericho warming up. WWE shows a graphic announcing that Ric Flair will be live on next week’s RAW!
- Back from commercial and JBL comes to the ring to conduct an Employee Appraisal on Shawn Michaels. HBK comes out to the ring.
HBK faces JBL in the ring. JBL says months ago he offered to bail HBK and his family out of debt because of HBK’s poor choices. JBL says he fulfilled his end of the proposal and HBK says yes, you have. JBL says the only reason he hired HBK was to go into WrestleMania as World Champion and asks HBK if he fulfilled his end. HBK says he hired him to make sure he was World Champion and in that time, he has done many things he is not proud of, including laying down for JBL.
HBK says as far as he is concerned in this business relationship, the blame falls on JBL. JBL says no, HBK failed at this just like he has failed at everything else. JBL asks him if he wants released out of his contract. HBK says what he wants is to kick JBL’s teeth down his throat. JBL says he knows he does and if he does that, he will lose everything and cause major problems for his family. JBL proposes a “Winner Takes All” match at No Way Out. If HBK wins, JBL will pay him and let him out of the deal. If JBL wins, he will own Shawn Michaels and his name for the rest of his career.
JBL goes on and on, taunting Michaels, bringing up his family. HBK accepts the match. JBL says since he still works for him, if HBK puts his hands on JBL before then, the deal is off the table. JBL starts poking HBK and getting in his face. It gets pretty intense as HBK just stands there and takes it. JBL slaps HBK, sending his hat flying. HBK looks like he’s about to snap but he just walks off as the crowd boo’s. HBK walks to the back with his head down as JBL looks on from the ring and we go back to commercial.
- Backstage we see Stephanie McMahon talking to Kane. He says “he” will be here next week. Stephanie thanks him and gives him the final spot in the Elimination Chamber match. Steph announces The Undertaker will face Randy Orton on next week’s RAW.

Chris Jericho vs. John Cena
Jericho comes out first for tonight’s main event followed by the World Champion. Cena starts brawling as soon as he gets in the ring. Cena turns his back and Jericho lays him out. They continue brawling back and forth all over the ring.
Cena and Jericho continue brawling and end up on the floor. Jericho lays Cena out and we go back to commercial.
Back from commercial and Jericho has Cena down on the mat with a chinlock. Cena powers out and lifts Jericho for the former FU but Jericho slides out and gets a 2 count on Cena. Cena ends up on the floor after Jericho kicks him off the apron and the ref starts his count. Cena gets in the ring at 9 and Jericho attacks him with right hands and steps on him. Cena slams Jericho and both men are down. Another 2 count. Jericho backs Cena in the corner and taunts him to his face. Cena fights back and hits shoulders off the ropes and the big suplex.
Jericho and Cena battle in the center of the ring. Jericho drops him but goes for the Lionsault, hitting it. 2 count by Jericho. Cena catches Jericho in another big slam and drops the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena lifts Jericho for the former FU, now called the Attitude Adjuster Lawler says. Jericho slides out and kicks Cena but Cena goes for it again. Jericho rolls him into the Walls of Jericho and locks it. Somehow Cena turns it into the STF to make Jericho tap for the win.
Winner: John Cena
RAW goes off the air with John Cena holding the World Title high in the ring.

JBL says he fulfilled his end of the proposal and HBK says yes, you have. JBL says the only reason he hired HBK was to go into WrestleMania as World Champion and asks HBK if he fulfilled his end. HBK says he hired him to make sure he was World Champion and in that time, he has done many things he is not proud of, including laying down for JBL.
HBK says as far as he is concerned in this business relationship, the blame falls on JBL. JBL says no, HBK failed at this just like he has failed at everything else. JBL asks him if he wants released out of his contract. HBK says what he wants is to kick JBL’s teeth down his throat. JBL says he knows he does and if he does that, he will lose everything and cause major problems for his family. JBL proposes a “Winner Takes All” match at No Way Out. If HBK wins, JBL will pay him and let him out of the deal. If JBL wins, he will own Shawn Michaels and his name for the rest of his career.
JBL goes on and on, taunting Michaels, bringing up his family. HBK accepts the match. JBL says since he still works for him, if HBK puts his hands on JBL before then, the deal is off the table. JBL starts poking HBK and getting in his face. It gets pretty intense as HBK just stands there and takes it. JBL slaps HBK, sending his hat flying. HBK looks like he’s about to snap but he just walks off as the crowd boo’s. HBK walks to the back with his head down as JBL looks on from the ring and we go back to commercial.
- Backstage we see Stephanie McMahon talking to Kane. He says “he” will be here next week. Stephanie thanks him and gives him the final spot in the Elimination Chamber match. Steph announces The Undertaker will face Randy Orton on next week’s RAW.

Chris Jericho vs. John Cena
Jericho comes out first for tonight’s main event followed by the World Champion. Cena starts brawling as soon as he gets in the ring. Cena turns his back and Jericho lays him out. They continue brawling back and forth all over the ring.
Cena and Jericho continue brawling and end up on the floor. Jericho lays Cena out and we go back to commercial.
Back from commercial and Jericho has Cena down on the mat with a chinlock. Cena powers out and lifts Jericho for the former FU but Jericho slides out and gets a 2 count on Cena. Cena ends up on the floor after Jericho kicks him off the apron and the ref starts his count. Cena gets in the ring at 9 and Jericho attacks him with right hands and steps on him. Cena slams Jericho and both men are down. Another 2 count. Jericho backs Cena in the corner and taunts him to his face. Cena fights back and hits shoulders off the ropes and the big suplex.
Jericho and Cena battle in the center of the ring. Jericho drops him but goes for the Lionsault, hitting it. 2 count by Jericho. Cena catches Jericho in another big slam and drops the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena lifts Jericho for the former FU, now called the Attitude Adjuster Lawler says. Jericho slides out and kicks Cena but Cena goes for it again. Jericho rolls him into the Walls of Jericho and locks it. Somehow Cena turns it into the STF to make Jericho tap for the win.
Winner: John Cena
RAW goes off the air with John Cena holding the World Title high in the ring.
